Dr. Jean Yves Delattre is Professor of Neurology, Attending Neurologist,
and chairman of the Fédération of Neurology « Mazarin
», Salpetriere Hospital, Paris. In the Laboratory of Experimental
Neuro-Oncology (INSERM U 495), approximatively 2000 sera or CSF are
screened each year for the presence of anti-Hu,
anti-Yo, anti-Ri,
anti-CV2, anti-Tr,
anti-Gad and anti-Ta autoantibodies.
Scientific team:
The "Paraneoplatic Neurologic Syndromes" group of the Salpetrière
Hospital (Department of Neurology and INSERM U 495) is constitued by
3 phycians (Jean-Yves DELATTRE, Baya BENYAHIA, Antoine CARPENTIER) and
2 technicians (one on a part time basis).
Research facilities
Immunohistochemistry and immunoblot techniques to detect onconeural
antibodies. Cell cultures (tumors and lymphocytes). Cytotoxicity assays.
Areas of interest
Clinical immunological correlations and therapeutic trials in PNS (in
close collaboration with Dr F.Graus from Barcelona).
Investigations of the role of cell mediated immunity in the anti-Hu
syndrome.
Experimental models of paraneoplastic neurologic syndromes (e.g. HuD-cDNA
vaccination).
